New wheels - protection
OK,
About to buy a new set of alloys for the Shogun and intend to properly clean and protect before fitting.
Part of my plan to have a set of summer wheels/tyres and a set of winter wheels and proper mud/snow tyres.
We get pretty severe weather, and loads of road salt in the winter, so looking to keep the summer set perfect by letting the winter set take all the abuse.
They will be factory new so planning to clean all contaminants off and apply several coats of Zymol wax and a sealant. They are likely to see a fair bit of mud from time to time, but will be regularly cleaned - the Shogun sees plent of its intened use, but that doesn't mean it gets abused.
Question is, will the planned application do the job, or is there something better or more resilient that I could apply?
Obviously when I take them off for the winter they'll get a good clean and waxing before being stored (in a well vented area)
Second question is, whats the best way to keep the tyres in good condition when they off? Last thing I want is for the rubber to perish.
Cheers in advance

I use Chemical Guys Jetseal on my wheels, and I hardly get any dust buildup and a quick hose off gets rid off most of the general road grime.

I agree totally with the idea of a basecoat of Werkstat Prime Strong, followed by multiple top coats of Poorboys Wheel Sealant - an excellent combination that looks good and works brilliantly in our opinion. When the wheels/tyres are off, storage depends on whether the tryes are left on the rims or not. If on, then stacking the wheels horizontally is generally thought to be kindest to the tyres, but if the tyres are off, then storing them vertically in a rack is better (as per tyre fitting places).
