Alternative tar spot remover
Hi All
Can someone recommend some household product that will do as a tar spot remover? I'm working away at present so don't have all my car cleaning kit, usually I use an aerosol tar spot remover but it's nothing fancy, in fact I think it was 99p! I do have a Bilt Hamber soft clay bar which will remove some tar spots with a lot of effort, but my usual aerosol does it easily. I will be washing, machine polishing and sealing the car afterwards so am not worried about stripping wax but obviously I don't want to damage the paint. I wondered whether WD40 or similar might help?

I know this is probably of no help whatsoever, but......... i used autoglym intensive tar remover the other day and it was spot on ( no pun intended
) Not only did it get rid of tar spots easily, it also got rid of the stickie residue left behind from number plate pads
