Really poor title but not entirely sure what's the best way to put the question !!
When you read some of the detailing write up's and there are specific pics of the paintwork defects, swirls in particular, a lot of the pro detailers use a seconadary light source. I have used my floodlight before, but it is a pain to keep shifting about the place. I have seen people use hand held versions before (look like torches??) and was just wondering if these were anything different from what you can buy in most torch selling shops ?
e.g. when I look up Maplin they have LED ones, are these better ??

There are some quite expensive ones on the market. Try searching detailingworld. However this is a budget one that I'm quite interested: Elite "Swirl Spotter" Super Bright LED Torch - Elite Car Care

Really bright LED torches are ideal for home use, as they show a reasonable amount up, and can be kept in a pocket while you work. The next step up is a bigger model like the popular Brinkman import, while at the top of the pile is the 3M Sun Gun, but at £300+ it only makes sense for pro use.
