It's all about the friction, the less you touch the car the better.
  • Pre-rinse with foam,suds. (loosens)
  • Rinsed
  • Washed using 2 bucket rinse/wash method and a dedicated body schmitt or mitt.
  • Rinsed with a sheeting method.

The bit that most people **** up....drying !!!

PAT DRY ONLY.

Waffles regardless of how soft they are WILL bring back smears and swirls if you wipe.

Once the car has a good layer of wax/sealant the sheeting will make drying a simple pat round with a good spritzed waffle.

As a starter anyway, lots more you can do but basically the key is hands off as much a possible.

also, don't dare drive the car, as driving a car down a dusty road will swirl dirt over the paintwork and give you marks

its best just to clean it and then park it in one of them bubble things forever

I used to use one of those silicone blade things, but it didn;t do the paintwork any favours. May as well have washed the car with dust and taken it through a drive thru car wash

All I do after rinsing with my trusty Karcher is fill up a watering can and sheet the water off. Then you're left with very little standing water and can just dab it clean.

I used to just use Megs microfibres and wipe the car clean, but discovered the waffle weave and it's an awful lot quicker with no smearing the water around.

Depends how much you care about your bodywork really or whether it's just a machine you wanna drive.

I'm 50/50, so do get quite **** about washing methods etc.

They can do terrible damage if any fresh dust or windblown debris is caught between the blade and the paint. Best avoided at all costs - pat drying is a far safer option, as is blow drying with a leaf blower.
