Cutting compound
Right, decided i'd try and take the black plastic rub strips off the door of my classic earlier. Thought i'd try the smallest bit on the front wing 1st. So anyway off i go with the fishing line and in no time it was off, all good so far.
Obviously i was left with a lot of glue residue so i used a combination of tar remover and metallic t-cut and alot of elbow grease/swearing to finally get rid of it all.
But now the panels clean i can see a faint line where the laquer has started to lift, its not the whole length of where the strip of glue was. Infact its not too bad at all and if i cant sort it out i can always just stick the plastic back on and you'd never know.
So my question is this, is there a cutting compound i could use ( ideally one applied by hand )to cut back the top layer of laquer and get rid of the line i've made ?
Any products/places to get it from would be much apprieciated.
Thanks Jay

try some 1200 gritt paper on it first and be gentle, you may be able to "blend" the edge down, although if its had respray work in the past and its not been done properlly (sounds like it) then you will be limited in what you can achieve.

As above; I'd try rubbing it back gently with 2000/3000 grit papers, then polishing out the haze using Menzerna Intensive Polish applied using a Lake Country German CCS Light Cut Pad.
