When is it too cold for washing your car?
I haven't done my car now since early December and thinking of doing it tomorrow morning prior to having my son all day.
It's going to be pretty cold but how cold is to cold for washing. I don't want to put on scratches on the car etc due to the air being too cold on the paint work.
Shall I warm the water a little or will that be worse off?
Steve

Too cold: when the water freezes on the bodywork whilst trying to rinse it off and dry it off.
(and yes, it has happened to me )
Always use warm water in the suds though, so the actual washing bit is ok.
I have previously hooked the hosepipe up to teh hot tap, however success was thwarted after the water froze before I had chance to dry it

Just got in from polishing up my exhaust whilst it was snowing, does that mean it is cold.
Still made some more room in the garage for my delivery from PolishedBliss, and swept the floor (and yes it was bloody freezing lol)
So I'm guessing that if you really luv your car you will get out there and care for it

As above, if the water isn't freezing onto the panels then it's fine to carry on... warm water is always best for buckets and through the hose/washer if you can manage it. Our hot water washer is a godsend in this weather...

Cheers guys,
I did do the car in the end. I used some new bits brought via Polished Bliss. I was really happy with the Blackfire Gloss Shampoo & Conditioner and as the wheels really needed doing the Blackfire Gel Wheel & Tyre Cleaner worked magic.
Trouble is now after the snow and salt it's filthy again. D'oh.
