Seafar99's Version 5 STI Wagon detail
This next one's from October where I popped over to Craig's to detail his car, due to only having a single garage, took my trusty gazebo with me.
Craig explained to me that he knew his car had quite a few marks that would need machined and may even need wet sanded, so took my rotary as well as my G220.
The day before I did the detail Craig let me know he had wet sanded all the areas he wasn't happy with (no pressure!!).
The car as it stood -
First things first and snowfoam using Meg's Hyperwash -
Once done, the car was washed using the 2 bucket method and Meg's Shampoo Plus and a lambswool mitt and then dried with Pakshak Waffle Weave Towels. Once done, the car was tardis'd, claybar'd, the door shuts degreased with Meg's Super Degreaser and the taped up ready to polish -
Just as we were about to start polishing, we looked up and thought, is that a rain cloud???
Crap!! dried the car all over again!!!
Initially used the G220 with Menz RD3.02, but due to the amount of wet sanding, ended up using the rotary to do almost the entire car.
There were swirls like this all over the body -
So proceeded to go round the whole body -
Tailgate spoiler before -
After -
Petrol Flap Before -
After -
Bonnet before -
After -
Bumper before -
After -
Once all the body was done with 3.02, we then polished using Menz 106, sealed with Blackfire and wax'd using blackfire midnight sun. All exterior trim was dressed with Megs All Season Dressing and the glass done with Megs Nxt glass cleaner.
The wheels were then cleaned with Megs Wheel Brightener, sealed with Poorboys Wheel Sealant and the tyres dressed with Blackfire Long Lasting tyre gel.
Finally we turned our attention to the interior and it was hoovered using my wee dyson cordless (a brilliant piece of kit) and then dressed using poorboys natural dressing, which Craig absolutely loves the smell of!!!
The finished car, after 10 hours of machine polishing and detailing!!!
