Hi, I've just got my Mica Black classic resprayed
and I really want to get the no.2 look in your 'dark metallics' thread, but Raceglaze 55 is a bit pricey for me.
Can you tell me if I would get a similar look with RG 42? I'd fancied the Black Hole anyway, but wax wise I was also considering Purple Haze or Blue Velvet, both Dodo I think. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

You'd get a very similar look, but less overall durability (say 2-3 months as opposed to 3-4). However, on black mica finishes, I'd actually suggest you look at Blackfire Midnight Sun instead, as it will give you all the wetness of pure waxes plus much better flake pop.
