Default Using softened water

I have a cold hard water tap and softened cold water tap outside, which should I be using to wash the cars bearing in mind that the hot water is also softened, does softened water affect cleaning products.

Yes, they will work better (i.e. shampoo will produce more suds), so use the softened water supplies. Also, less chance of water spotting after rinsing if you used softened water.
