Default I would like my car detailed please

Are there any reccomended detailers in the Edinburgh or Northampton areas?

I am venturing off the island this month for my brothers wedding in Edinburgh, will be up there for 3 days (stay could be extended if needs be) then heading down to Northampton to spend some time with my grandparents

while over I will be looking to have my car properly detailed, how long would it take and what sort of cost would I be looking at?

i dont know who else to recommend other than......me

i dont officially have my company up and running yet, but in the middle of getting it up and running, will be: dreamgleam.co.uk Online

i live in luton bedfordshire area, but can travel up to northampton if you wanted it doing, all i ask is access to water, electricity and possibly access to a large garage (so weather cannot stop play!)

if you wanted it doing or wanted to ask any questions give me a pm or text on 07835174634, and we could go from there.

thanks

I was hoping you were going to say the Isle of Wight, then I'd go there no worries
I bet the IOM is a good place to have a Scoob.
If you want me to come to Northampton I'd be happy to as its not that far, if you email me as per profile be happy to talk.
Best wishes
Tim

If coming to Northampton, definately give this guy a ring, really good guy and takes all day to do an excellent job, not overly expensive either.

You could spend a day in Durham seeing the sights and I could possibly do your car.

Well, as arranged, last week Tim from Envy Professional Valeting came to my Grandparents house to spend some time on my car, 11 hours to be exact

I tried to take some before pics, excuse the out of focus ones it was early

In need of a clean I think you will agree but bear in mind it had been driven from the Isle of Man to Northampton, then to Edinburgh, up to Dunfermline, back to Edinburgh, down to Darlington and then back to Northampton

Tim arrived about 07:30 and after a cup of coffee he got cracking

First were the wheels, then the first foam mix

Second foam mix was more like shaving foam

After a couple of bacon butties and another cuppa it Tim gave the car a wash

after drying the car it was then time for the clay bar

once the car had been clayed, Tim spent around an hour and a half finding a pad and polish combination he was happy with on my car then proceeded to machine the car

bit of a half and half shot

once the machining was done, Tim conditioned the paint work then applied the wax

because the machining took so long (due to the car never haviung had this done before I think) by this time the light was fading

so the flood lamps came out so Tim could finish waxing

The car was then tucked away in the garage for the night

I brought it out again the following day for some pics of the fruits of Tim's labour

The back box has now been cleaned and polished

Well worth the money I think you will agree.

I have now gone out and bought a whole load of new stuff for cleaning the Scoob and used it the other day to clean the journey from Northampton back to the island off the car.

Tim I cant thank you enough mate, the car looks outstanding.

Actually I left Dave with a tube of Autosol and some fine wire wool as I was out of time! Normally I would use these items myself
A long day with a drive home, then packing and off to Spain the day after
Dave forgave me bless him and thanks for the post too Dave. It was a pleasure to meet you.

Why would I just look at the pictures? Seriously, when I posted, the text under that photo was NOT there. It was probably down to me downloading a huge file at the time and some stuff not showing. In fact, I'm still downloading it now!

I detail cars (not as a business), so enjoy reading the write-ups. If you think I just like looking at pictures, have a look at some of my threads...

Next time I'll say the car looks ****, then?!

I bet you`re over the moon with the finish Dave, looks great

Cracking work Tim, perhaps you`dve had time to do the exhaust if it wasn`t for those bacon butties

I think I can see that it`s a Swissvax being used but which one just out of interest?

ooohhh someone either did not get any last night or they got out of the wrong side of bed yesterday, chill out fella The text was there and always has been, do you see an edited note under the post? Nope? thats because it was not edited

I sure hope you are a person who has better things to do in your life than pick others up on the smallest things as you have done here, in fact thinking about it I reckon you must have been one of the people who called up the BBC to complain about Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand

No I didnt know that mate but it was still not edited

I am perfectly chilled and relaxed thanks, just having a bit of fun

Seriously though, guys, come on. Why do people jump on a thread and immediately pick the post up on the smallest of things?

I explained in my post that Tim had run out of light and that the back box has now been cleaned and still someone sees fit to pick the post up on it

Can Tims hard work not be appreciated for what it is?

Why are you telling me to chill out when I've been the coolest all this time, haha. I think you need to stop presuming that I didn't read the thread, ''did not get any'' and got out of bed the wrong side! If you read my reply, I was downloading a file at the time. If you don't understand that, then that's okay.
The text I've highlighted in bold: that's just silly. So the same applies to all those people that detail cars or people who like paying attention to detail? I'm sure they also have better things to do in life? Don't mod your car, you've got better things to do! LOL.

You're the one who's taking the ****, as I haven't said anything to come across as if my life depends on this thread? Again, you just presumed I was pissed off but you couldn't be more wrong.

So what does the BBC comment have to do with this thread?

I didn't come on the thread looking to point out anything. Read my post again and you'll see I did appreciate Tim's work and said the car looked good and then joked about the exhaust not being cleaned. I think Tim's reply to my post in contrast with yours is great. He didn't get cranky about it, just explained why the exhaust was not cleaned. I've seen a lot of Tim's work online (Detailing World + Type-R-RA) and always commented on how great the cars end up looking. I'm sure Tim could back me up.

I've explained why I didn't see the text, but if you don't get why it didn't show, then I'm sorry, I won't reply again. Sorry for pointing out your exhaust was dirty.

Shaggy, cheers for all the help but all sorted for Monday now.

The bacon thing could have been it mate, its a good job I said no to lunch

Wax indeed was Swissvax, I've been a Swissvax detailer and still would be if it were not for their politics but thats another story!
The wax was/is Swissvax Saphir which I find to be a great all rounder.

Best wishes
