Is that the stuff that if you need a panel repainting you have to do the whole car to get the colour right

certainly is. £240 a litre for paint. Chances are they won't get it right first time either. was more than a bit nervous when i machining. to give you an idea the thickness readings were up at 100 microns inside the door. much higher than normally seen. usually around 50 to 80 on most cars i've done. in some places this was 108 microns on the outside. that's just 8 microns to play with rest of the readings though were a nice and safe 120+

Ta. the colour is amazing. Paint was very soft which is good as it helps to avoid stone chips. would hate to end up having the hoel car done just to be rid of a few stone chips!

will get pics of yours up soon fella. just waiting on the mem card adaptor

was finished with Dodo blue velvet. Customer has asked that i put him together a list of options for keeping it tip top.

he did say that it had brought out colours that he'd not seen in the paint before.

is an awesome paint job. was umming and ahhing what to go with. i picked up the purple haze and put it down and the same with rainforrest rub. i was tempted to go with light fantastic layered with the blue velvet. but after putting on the blue velvet i was happy with how it came out. i sealed it up with mothers advanced reflections top coat. the owner does huge amounts of mileage in the car so needed it really well protected. when i say huge mileage, he's done 15k miles since buying the car..............................

in feb of this year!

Forgive me if i'm wrong, but would supercharging it not change it from naturally aspirated to forced induction?

Cheers Rich.

when are you expecting to get the 3000 grit w&d papers back in? got a monster bad one coming up and going to need it. whole car will be wet sanded down. btw this is my daily runner. been trying to get it as minging as possible inside and out to be able to do a good write up.

will need a few other bits too. new backing plate, and a couple of pads. just not sure to go for all 3m for a change. currently use the megs soft buff cutting pad and follow up with a l&c green pad. love the combo but have seen you like the 3m. how do they compare? btw - i just use the rotary now.

The 3000 grit should be here by the end of this week at the latest; Meguiars have been out of stock for ages! If you are solely using the rotary, then 3M makes a lot more sense. The new yellow polishing pad and blue ultrafina pads offer a lot more feel over either Lake Country or Megs pads, and give terrific results with either 3M or Menzerna polishes. Adding in the 3M green pad and Fast Cut Plus to your line up will also give you a heavyweight weapon just in case - sometimes invaluable!
