Default Mild or Aggr Clay Bar?

After a year or so using the Meguiars starter kit clay bar (Grey in colour, very mild I think), obiously a good product, but it does leave a little behind now and then.

So question is Would the Meg's Mild clay be a better option, or maybe the Agg one?, although PB web site says best with machine polishing after (which I dont have). I'd also get some Meg's Last Touch as a lube, good choice?

Any other makes to look at?

Thanks
Daz.

Never had any problems with the Quick Clay (use it every 6 months). Mild and Aggressive clays will no doubt cause marring so therefore a machine polish would be needed. Last touch is perfect for lube.

I'm only looking at a stronger one due to the smoothness not being as smooth as I'd like. But the last thing I would want to do is leave a load of marring behind. Surley Mild would be ok with this Meg's LT.

do you have to use clay bars with special lubricant...or can you just use it on a wet car?

I've seen people use just water, but I wouldn't recommend it!! best using some form of lubricant!! Meguiars quick detailer or last touch are the ones I use

personally if you're not going to be machine polishing afterwards i'd stick with the quick clay and get some autosmart tardis to use before claying. this way the tardis will remove a good 80 - 90% of the bonded contaminents, if not more and then you can go over with the clay bar after.

regarding using claybars with just water, there are clays that you can buy that you only use with water. not all clays can be used this way and need a good lube such as last touch watered 1:1 with water

I used Megs mild (blue one) on this:

Ended up like this

I found it easier to use than the starter kit with no marring.

You don't have to rinse it again if you tidy up by quick detailing as you go, but sometimes it is easier just to foam it and rinse off again. Generally, if its making a big mes then you need to check your lube - it is compatible with the clay? Sounds daft, but using a shampoo mix for example can cause clay to break down and smear a lot.
