Default Silly Question. Wax time

This may seem like a silly question but I need to ask.

How long is best to leave the wax on the car for before you buff it off? I need to wax my car soon after a wash and then add the sealent (Blackfire) on top.

Regards
Steve

Thanks for the input guys. Dave, your a tart on your car so.......lol

I do now use Blackfire F1 CJE UK. I think its the ivory wax off the top of my head? I only gave mine the once going over as I could see the rain clouds coming in. As you say I did one panel, wax the next one and then buffed the first panel and so on.
I may put two coats on next time round then the sealent. How long should I wait to use the sealent for? An hour or so after removing the second coat of wax?

Sorry for the dumb questions.

sealent 1st then the wax...... i would go 4 one layer of wax then next time you wash her give another coat of wax, if you keep doing that every 5 weeks or so it will stay tip top

you would have start again to use the sealent once the wax has been used

Hey F1 CJE UK,

I thought I'd get away with Wax then sealant Blackfire Deep Gloss Spray Sealant - Blackfire Car Care and Detailing Products ?

Why would I have to start again? This is my process. I'm no expert but I do it like this.
Wash with Poorboys suds
Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish
Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection
Blackfire Midnight Sun Ivory Carnauba Paste Wax
Blackfire Deep Gloss Spray Sealant

You can't use the Blackfire Polish on top of the Blackfire Wax, the Spray sealant is fine though. I asked Blackfire this using the online chat facility plus I have a Blackfire complete set of instructions for the products which also confirms this.

Sorry I read it wrong I thought by sealant you where using Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection which would not bond to the paint after the wax….. I would be very Surprised if the sealant you where applying was doing much as I don’t see it being able to layer on top of the wax that successfully I would go for adding another wax layer but it want be doing any harm either way ..

Are you using the sealant during the drying processes ….. I use this to give the car a little shine weekly ……. Meguiars Last Touch - Meguiars Car Care and Detailing Products

Just an idea

Just to clarify... the Blackfire range is pretty unique because of the polymer it contains. Normally, layering any kind of sealant over a wax is a big no no, as the wax will prevent the sealant from bonding properly. However, in the case of Blackfire, because all of the products contain the same polymer all of the products will bond over each other just fine. My advice is to stick to a single basecoat of Wet Diamond after polishing with Gloss Enhancing Polish, then apply regular coats of Midnight Sun say every 4-6 weeks, and if you feel the need to quick detail after washing, then using the Deep Gloss Spray Sealant every week on top of the wax layers will work just fine too.
