Default I Need A Polishing Machine!!! Help

Hi folks,
As the title says i need a poilshing machine but i really don't want to pat £150 for a Meguiars G220 Dual Action Polishing Machine. I want to spend as little as possible but get the kind of quality that the megs leaves. I also want a machine that i can get replacement pads for easy without hassel. Please help guys
Thanks

What about the makita polishing machine. I just find the megs too expensive to be buying for the odd use now and again.

the makita is a rotary machine and needs a fair bit more experience to use as it can easily burn through the paint and its about £140 anyway. There is a Silverline Rotary you can get of ebay but again i would not really like to be using it as its a rotary and with out practice/experience you may end up needing a re-spray! the DA style like the megs are the best for a first polisher but there is no cheap ones, i looked!

So what direction does the megs go in then, compare to the makitia, whats the difference. The car i have has been through car washes all its life and need a proper going over.

Its Catus Green and its 1997. I think all of its life has been spend in a car wash and no care has been taken at all on the bodywork. I know i can bring it back to life with some hard work and the right equipment. Its got swirls all over it, alot of minor scatches and the normal paint colour for a 11 year old car. Please help

Is the Megs G220 really custom made? The cynic in my suspects it's some random orbit sander with a Megs sticker on it, but I'm willing to believe otherwise if you guys say so. Where is it made? Any chance of picking one up cheaply in Taiwan or Hong Kong?

Meguiars is a very big name in the US and only offer top of the line products... PB uses this tool on his professional details when I rotary is not useable….

I don't doubt it's an excellent tool for the job, there's evidence enough of that in the threads on here. I would just be surprised if they had to custom design and build it. Fair play if they did and then I can understand the high price, but if it's a cheap (but good) random orbit sander with a polishing head and a Meguiars sticker then I'd be less than impressed at paying for the label. Anyone know the background of the machine?

I can confirm the machine was built to Meguiars own spec; it is made in a far eastern factory where another popular long throw dual action machine for car polishing is made (and probably many other related power tools), but the tool design for the G220 is unique to it. Meguiars spent a long time on the project from start to finish, and eventually included many CNC machined components in order to ensure quality and longevity.
