claying my car....
just popped down halfords as i had a spare £20 and pick up that meguairs "kwik clay" kit.
got a bottle of spray lube, the clay bars (2 of) and a big yellow microfibre cloth i assume i wipe down with.
also got a little bottle of megs wax in the box.
i usually use nattys paste wax, but pending weather tomorrow when i wash the car, i may try this megs stuff.
anyone ever used it?

I have used the quick clay on my previous car and a couple of others, not done the scoob yet. Will leave your paint unltra smooth once it has been done. Suprising how much it gets off the car when you think it is already clean.

The kit I had only had the clay bar and the quick detailer (a bit cheaper) but I have always used the Megs Gold Class wax or more recently some 50/50 Connoisseur Paste Wax http://www.chemicalguysuk.com/photos...lash-50-2T.jpg

the thing that moved me away from using megs polishes/waxes was smearing. probably down to not claying though had the car 15 months, never clayed it
will wait and see.

If memory serves me I think it is a cleaner wax in the kit you have? If so it may behave a little differently to a normal wax. Just follow the instructions and there should be no problem. Sometimes they can streak if you are doing it in direct sunlight and they dry out. Every product is different.

you will be amazed at how much stuff the clay will pull out of your paint and how smooth if feels afterwards. i found after claying mine that polish/wax were also easier to apply and buff off

well low and behold after last nights earthquake....
nothing fell on my car
and it was sunny.... you know what this means
wash time.
anyways, washed the car as per normal, and just dried it thoroughly with the megs towels.
gonna get some munch for breakfast and then on with the claying.
i may take a couple of after photos of the car and the clay bar, but the neighbours already give me funny looks.
oh, gonna try some of that megs wax i got yesterday too, worth a pop, as from what i understand the clay wipes off all sealent waxes etc?
mmmm bacon sarnies

just had a read of that while i let a clay bar soak for 5 mins.
some very good tips there, as i was gonna go the sides first, scrimp on the lube and make a hash basically. feel more prepared now.

well what can i say.
ive done the roof, across the a,b c pillars and the bonnet.
then it started spitting
the difference even with a mild clay such as this was amazing.
i assume as it was litterally a little spit of rain, i can wipe the car down and carry on claying? passing shower i believe. cars not soaked anyways.
no way can andy be arsed to start over

Andy,
I used to use the Megs NXT wax and found it smeared like a bugger - even after claying.
Aint used any of their other waxes/polishes but gave up with the stuff and with the kind advice from PB switched to Jeffs products
Claying is a pain in the butt to do but it's well worth it afterwards, smooth as a baby's wotsit !
