As above, they are one and the same (full detail = correction detail); in our book, you either fully correct the paint or you don't bother at all. If you do it's called a correction detail, if you don't it's called a protection detail. According to some recent discoussion topics on DW, a lot of halfway house jobs are now being done by inexperienced folk, which is a shame, as it causes confusion in terms of what customers should expect from detailing work.

Thank you very much for exapling that. That is a shame that some of theser inexperienced detailers are not doing the right level of detail. So for a customer that wants a proper paint correction done will be hard finding one i supose and money could be wasted

Thing to do is ask people who are actively involved in the detailing community for recommendations, then view portfolio's carefully, and ask the important questions, like "are you insured?" and "do you use paint guages?". There are around half a dozen to a dozen pro detailers who we pass a lot of work onto around the UK, based on us knowing their work from the forums and talking to them in person. If ever anyone wants help finding someone we are always happy to try and help; we have a few holes in our coverage map, but in general we can point people towards someone trustworthy.

I have some factory marks and a few holograms on the bonnet of mine, but would love to get a one off correction and decent finish on the car.

John at Clean & Shiny is worth contacting for sure, although he is out SW way, so a bit to travel. Paul Dalton at Miracle Detail covers the whole London area, and his work is second to none, but it comes at a hefty price.
