Default Black Mica Scooby detail

A fellow ESC member asked me to detail his stunning black classic sti for him to remove some swirls and minor scratches.

It wasn't the best of starts as i forgot my camera. However it allowed me to get on with the job in hand.

process used was:

rinse,
foam with autobrite foam lance and super snow foam - left to soak for 5 mins,
rinse,
wash - 2 buckets and 2 wash mits,
rinse,
dry,
claybar,
foam,
rinse,
wheels degreased and then foamed and rinsed,
inside of exhaust degreased, polished, foamed and rinsed,
rinsed,
dried,
machine polished with menzerna intensive polish,
machine polished with menzerna final finsh II,
finished off with blackfire wet look.

so here's the afters:

and finally the pic that shows just how gorgeous this car came up. not sure who the ugly bloke in the reflection is though

cheers for the comments. we started at 9:15, ok so a few cups of coffee later we started but it was finished up at about 7:30. well worth the time spent.

alex - let me know if you want me to recommend someone in your area. detailing's not cheap but it's well worth the money if you then look after it

right, having spoken to my very reliable sources (thanks Rich ) Matt from off your marks detailing has been recommended. website here

get yourself a scrap pannel from the junk yard to practice on. doesn't matter if you mess it up then.

Wow, cracking finish, superb clarity in the reflection shots. I love the evening light for really showing off the quality of the work done.

evening light is superb for taking pictures. got to priase the menzerna polishes though. intensive follwed by final finish II is a personal favourite of mine. btw - those pads that i ordered are superb. just enough cut on the heavier one without being too much
