engine steam cleaning

The very best way to do it is to buy a few tins of Engine Cleaner from the PoundShop.
Warm the engine, spray the cans all over, start engine and allow to idle, get jet washer and spray all over (but NOT the intercooler or alarm) ... leave engine running and close bonnet - it will steam clean itself.
Cost? About £3 - 3 cans ....... superb value and amazing results!!

Normally around a £10. They spray the engine bay with TFR and then jet it with steam.
Or to save yourself a few quid, buy 'Gunk' or similar and take it down a diy jetwash, cover the engine bay in Gunk as described on the back of the bottle, leave engine running, cover alternator (not essential) and jet wash the stuff off.
