is it alloy?

i did one for a mate with a 500bhp civic and tried a few different things

weak solution of TFR did nothing
strong solution cleaned it up quite well `ish,
then i moved onto wheel cleaners TBH and its starting to get a little dodgy

cleaned it up in the end but i had his full consent to try the progressively stronger things, always test on a small area!!

try soaking it in a multisurface cleaner first and hoseing it off, you never know it might be enough

end tanks and such can always be buffed back up with a metal polish if needed, or you could cover them up with a bit of thought?

I'd start out with P21S Total Auto Wash and take it from there. Apply, leave to soak for 15 mins, then rinse off and inspect.
