Default Dear Admin- re-structure of pages as too slow

Admin,

If your just looking for one page its no big problem but when spending considerable time on the site this becomes very annoying.

The top half of the page which is announcements and above loads immediately but then there is a delay before the rest of the pages loads. AS I have said when spending time on here its really annoying.

Could you consider a restructure of the pages or, do the announcements really need to appear on EVERY page?

(EDIT: Just realised you can delete the announcements but the header still loads immediately and the rest of the page is delayed.)

Its not my internet connection of my pc causing this as I use a number of different machines to access the site.

Cheers

Ben

we are due to move onto faster servers in the not too distant future, so that should cure the latency issues.

Even if the threads were at the very top of the page they'll still take the same amount of time to load as it needs to pull the info from the server database....which is currently holding things back.

This problem has nothing to do with db issue.... I can assure you of that!

This appears to be something on the site that now causes a problem with IE, so perhaps not a performance issue per se. If you try and use Firefox, you do not get the lag.

Ahh, I think I know what your on about (just looked in IE , as I usually FF too ).

Possibly that script error, also IE7's security settings. Bunging scoobynet into the trusted zone speeds up the page load time to almost on par with FF

Not to forget disabling that pesky phishing filter that slows everything down as well. And that multiple connection peer registry tweek would do no harm either.
