Hmmm, strange, what exactly is happening? It works for me

David I've moved this to bugs so that it doesn't get lost in NSR before Webby gets to see it

Probably works about 50% of the time. frustrating when it dispalys blank pages and then restricts you for 30 seconds.

OK.

Last night, after a glass or three, I tried to search for a thread and kept getting either "cannot find webpage" or sometimes a search result that bore no relation to what I was looking for

So I thought I would try again this morning with just coffee powering my brain But the same thing.

I am looking for a thread which I am 90% sure was in NSR about 2 weeks ago which was discussing use of veggie oil in diesels with particular reference as to which fuel pumps can be damaged by veggie.

So I used keywords like Fuel Pump, Lucas, Bosch etc as I know they came up in the thread. But on the rare occasion the Search worked no threads after Jan/Feb 08 came up.

So I said "dash it" and posted in NSR having seen no comments in Bugs about this as a problem.

Does that help??

Have you lost my £5 Scoobymoddy thingy?

Hi All

The search function has been flakey since we introduced the new search system to avoid the massive board slow downs we had with the standard vBulletin search system.

The site is being moved to the new servers shortly, and after that the guys will be in a better position to be able to sort all this out.

Thanks for your patience.

I too am having lots of issues with this. Its quite annoying as I need to get a new headlight bulb this weekend and wanted to search through all the threads about headlight upgrades.......perhaps not being able to search will have saved me some cash...who knows

Good luck with the server upgrade

And it's an effing nuisance because there are one or two threads I would have kept had I known that I wouldn't be able to find them again......

DCI - if Search works for you then suggest an unusual word that has been in an NSR thread in the last month and I'll try a search and see what happens. david

I got that after upgrading to Firefox V3. Going back to V2 fixed it. Not sure about Internet Exploder.

I tried searching 'imposter' and a thread by DCI Gene Hunt came up

David, the board is being moved to new servers tomorrow (Thurs), once this is done then other problems like search will be looked into
