Pop Ups
#2
We absolutely should not have a single pop up on scoobynet, so if there is, it is a mistake or some other problem.
Could you please give me any details on this pop up? Which ad network it was delivered through, etc?

Actually, I've just made a change to one of the networks, as one of the options was to allow ads served by a third party, which I guess could include those with pop-ups.
Please still give me as much info as you can, as we do not, under any circumstances want pop ups on ScoobyNet.

thank you Andy.
When this pop up appears, the banner at the top of the page, or the large banner on the right hand side - are they also for this europa casino?
If so, could you please right click the banner, select properties, then copy and paste the link into this thread.
This will enable me to see which ad network is delivering these pop ups to us.
Thanks

Right
This makes no sense at all. I have gone through all of our ad networks, and without question, every one, has the settings correctly set to block pop-ups.
Clearly something is going wrong here, and I need your help please to find out which ad network is doing this.
-
Please follow these instructions carefully
If a pop-up appears on the page, and you are POSITIVE it has been spawned by that specific page load (not the last one, or whatever), please do the following :
Post in this thread : The name of the company advertising in the very top banner (the one above the menu).
Right click that banner, click properties, and then copy and paste the url from the properties in its entirety into this thread.
Then do exactly the same as above for the big banner on the right.
Then ideally, give me as much info as possible on the page that has popped up : the name of the advertiser, and ideally the url of the page.
Then click "Go Advanced", and then uncheck the option : "Automatically parse links in text".
Then hit "Submit Reply"

i wonder if some of the ones that have been disabled have allready "infected" some machines which are now throwing up random popups, i ran adaware this morning again but it found nothing but tracking cookies.

There is no "infecting" of machines, so please be careful about scaremongering.
We are dealing with some of the most respected ad networks in the world, so I don't think they're likely to attempt to "infect" machines to cause pop ups to appear!

This mob sent a pop up
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
Couldn't get rid of it and couldn't close my PC. Had to unplug it.
I'm slightly miffed as I had a decent ad blocker on Norton but webbie told me to disable this as I had to view ads on SN.......
So would it have dumped a virus/worm on my PC?
