Wink Search Function??

Hi Simon/Shaun.

Am I being blind or is there no longer a Search function??

I just don't want to get told off by the bullies or someone shout SIAL at me

Thanks in advance

I think in one of Simon's/Shaun's threads he mentions that the search function isnt quite up and running yet.

Steve,

Thought I saw it somewhere - in Simon's post in General (I think) he says this:

In addition, please accept our deepest apologies, that the search function is not yet switched on. It requires a huge indexing process, which we will do gradually over the next 2 weeks and then switch it on.

That's the bunny. Search users a massive index, which needs to be built. Building it takes a serious amount of processing but once done it should mean that we can search blindingly quickly

Hopefully it will incorporate a forum specific search too, rather than a full site search...

Search by Author would be handy also....

Edited: My first post on SN3 and I need to edit cos I can't spell! D'oh!

Search by author will be there, along with forum specific, and (hopefully) all the standard features of vBulletin search. This will be a Good Thing, but please give us (or more accurately, them - Si and Shaun) a couple of weeks as requested

Cheers,
Nick.

No probs Chiark.

Any idea why against my username on the left, it says that I registered with SN 7 years before I was born? lol

I didn't realise the net was functional in January 1970!

talizman,
We had a software update a while ago and all those that registered after that have no date of joining so Jan 1970 was used as a default.
Simon and Shaun know about this and are going to sort it, but as you can imagine they have a few other jobs on the list
