Feeling my age now and although my prodrive exhaust on my 05 WRX sounds lovely, I am feeling the need to start acting my age! Will a standard pee-shooter exhaust on my current system achieve this or am I better off getting a resonated centre pipe? Don't want to reduce the performance too much.

At present I have:
Sports cat downpipe
Standard up-pipe
De-resonated centre pipe
Prodrive back box

Any advice appreciated.

 

swap your center pipe mate

 

Id say you can not get much quieter than what you have.
A lot of people go for the revolution system..

 

Swap the non-silenced centre pipe for an OEM one and that should tone it down a little. I've got the three de-cats but 4am starts mean I have no desire to wake up the neighbours so have the OEM centre and STI backbox.

Prodrive exhaust is already nice and quiet,you should try Nur spec on yours and then you will love yours Prodrive quietness

But as above I would add extra resonator centre pipe which should helps a little

Your not really going to get much quieter, as said a resonated centre will help a little.

Either go back to standard, buy ear defenders or sell it

 

I run a sports cat downpipe and res centre with scorpion/prodrive rear and its lovely, screams like a jet on full chat but no cabin boom etc.
