Default Bit of Advice,

Long story short the car that I was originally looking to get is taking an age because of issues with DVLA as the car originally had a French number plate and I need a car asap.

As such I have seen another Blobeye. This one is a 2005 Blobeye WRX in black with a PPP, Mileage is 80K, but last documented service (along with Cambelt) was at 50k, it also has a full MOT. The tyres are also pretty good. I think I might be able to get it for about £3,900.

The two main issues that I have are,
1) the car has no documentation in relation to a service since the 50k one.
2) the bonnet does not line up with the front bumper, (the front is sticking out), upon closer inspection it looks like the front bonnet has not been fitted correctly. I have also had a look at the engine bay to see if there was any damage, but there is nothing evident.

Ultimately given how cheap this car is I am considering taking a chance on it, but before I do I am hoping that some of you may be able to give me some advise.

How much would a FULL Service cost? as I want to get the mechanicals checked.
Also how much do you think it would cost if I had to change the car bumpers / bonnet and get them painted to blend in (assuming there is nothing hiding underneath)?

Thanks for your help.

in November 2012 I bought my 05 reg black blob wrx, 100k and FSH, but has poor paint work, but nothing major (all original and straight, but surface scratches from trees/branches/etc.) for £3,600

IMO, I don't think I would have bought it if the panels hadn't lined, that shout's poor repair

a full service with all fluids will be £600+, a new bonnet fitted and front end respray could set you back another £1k

so it could cost you £5.5k, maybe more if anything is bent or twisted. have a look at some for sale for about £5k, they should be in VGC

if you want to buy it, I'd be looking at paying nearer £3k

Walk away, if there isnt even a single reciept for 5 liters of oil and a filter, its probably never been changed.

There will be far too many other things that need sorting out.

Is it a cat d? I was tempted once, but the car drove slightly diagonally.

The Free HPI Check on the car states that there has been NO VIC notifications.

The original car is a wrx with PPP, with Fsh, 75k miles, 6 months tax, 12 months mot.
I will be paying £5,800 for that.
Sadly STI running costs are too high for me, otherwise I would.

Why go there - no service is one thing but if you have suspicions that it has been crashed then what good can come from owning this vehicle?

At the very least get it up on a ramp at a local mechanics place and see whether that reveals any further crash damage.......and then walk away!
