hi people, my name is paul im 28 from wigan
have known about scooby net for years. have always wanted a scooby but insurance has always stopped me and i was never willing to get a low powered one so always resisted the urge.
i get married next april and the fiancee is going on about kids and how my lowered 3 door civic isnt pratical for kids so i have managed to convice her the most practical car on the roads is a scooby.
the plan was to sell the civic now and get her a small run around and get the scooby after the wedding. i then got a promotion at work and she got a new job so i have decided after years of waiting i cant another 6 months lol so im going looking this weekend.
need to strip the civic back to standard saturday and going scooby hunting sunday and monday.
always been a massive fan of the older civics so settled on around about 2005 plate and going to get the 2.0wrx. i have always had a soft spot for the station wagon.
are there any known problems that i should look for when looking at 2005 plate 2.0 wrx?
i have already to be told to check the clutch as they are expensive to replace.
but is there anything else?
and by the way im soooooooooooo excited about getting a scooby and joining in the scoobynet fun

You can get a uprated clutch nowdays for £320-350!! I remember paying a £1000 for a clutch on my Evo!!
now that was gutting!!
WRX a good car if your going to keep it standard-ish, no point buying it if your going to spend £000's turning it into a STi rep as you might as well put the extra cash in buying one in the first place!!!

+1.
Try and find a car with a PPP or equivalent (or better) upgrade in place.
Brakes should be the first mod if you pick up a car without upgraded ones.
Nothing wrong with a WRX, it's just not as capable or quick as the STi - not everyone needs that. It is as pointed out above a perfectly able car and one that is quick enough to be enjoyed properly and safely on the public roads.
If you come across any nice cars post the ad up on here and we'll collectively help.
