Question Noobie with a Scoob what parts to buy?

Hi everyone I picked up a 57 plate Impreza WRX last friday and absolutely love it, first Impreza I've ever owned. Just wondering and after advice on what parts to buy first for it. I was thinking along the lines of an exhaust first followed by a strut brace and front splitter. I want to buy parts that will actually make a difference and are not just stick on pieces of rubbish that don't do anything. Any help and advice would be greatfully received. Cheers Rich

The best thing really is to read up on what works and then decide what is right for you and your driving style if you use the search engine it's all been discussed before,or have a browse through this site as well which is good for beginnershttp://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.php.SJ.

So you want parts that arent stick on pieces and make a difference, yet the two first mods you put on are strut braces and a splitter? lol.

Forget the strut braces unless you run 3 point or more jobbies, 2 point ones are pointless and wont have any effect.

you need braces that brace between the chassis tops, and the bulkhead etc as that is the only way it can "stiffen" anything up. 4 point underbrace etc!

Maybe some lowering springs or coilovers rather than braces

An exhaust will gain you some power so is worth it, and then sports cats fuel pump, remap etc!

Thanks, I have had a quick look around the site but only joined about half an hour ago so haven't had much time yet. I was just trying to get a general feel about 'the basics' that everyone has done to their cars etc. Rich.

Good service is always a good start

Pfrb 7 plugs
Uprated pannel filter
Exhaust
Remap
3 port boost solenoid (not essential but common upgrade)
Good geo set up

Good solid base for a fast road car keeping it realistic and can be done for under 1k

Afterwards your talking turbo, box, injectors etc and starts to get expensive.

Maybe consider a newage Sti top mount to help cooling

Also decent set of discs and pads! No good having the extra grunt if you can't use it to its full advantage
