Now that is cool, though I'd rather not have 208 bhp running only through the rear wheels.

My brother is into bugs and one of his volksworld mags had a guy who but a scooby engine in his bug, now that was cool! makes a change from dropping in 911 engines, oh, they also drop in the alfa boxer engine as well, which I believe you also did.

Nice project though, think it might humble a few cars on the straights. Clandestine scooby power, oh yes!

Wonder if you can put a scooby engine in a mini? hmm...

I thought you guys might be interested in what happens to dead Scoobies...
Well, I've transplanted a MY97 Impreza turbo engine into my 600kg rear wheel drive car!
It is a Porsche 356 speedster replica and I can confirm that it's bloody fast!
If you want to have a decent look, I have documented it all with plenty of pictures on my web site:

You, sir, are certifiable. That is utterly, utterly wonderful and quite exquisitely mad!

The wiring loom scares me alone, never mind what the thing must go like.

My Dad has a Morris Minor convertible. What do you reckon?

Nick.

Great car, though it has to be said you're a fool

Live just outside of Solihull. Won't say where exactly (for obvious reasons), but it is in village that ryhmes with the Scottish oatmeal, breakfast cereal. You should know where it is.

Cheers,
Tom

There's a guy used to hillclimb a Moggy Minor - Nick Mann I seem to remember - it had a Rover V8 in and about 350bhp......yeehah!

I've seen that Bug in Volksworld, but the car is French, I've never actually seen another one before!
I was a bit worried about the wiring but with plenty of common sense and help from Firefox I figured it out, even started first time!
I'm guessing I must have 240ish bhp with a K&N and virtually a straight bit of pipe for the exhaust system...
I haven't really put my foot down in it yet, although I did spin the wheels at 60mph! There is a slight bit of damage in the cambelt so it is going off to Midland Impreza on friday for a new one and then I'll take it down the strip at santa pod on saturday :-)
I know where you mean, Tom...I also remember something about that V8 Moggy, wasn't it a twin turbo with lots of graphics?

Cheers,
Rich (soon to be killed or committed!)

Been reading about this car for a little while found out because of an interest in 356's.

Might be a path I am willing to follow!
