Default Castrol Syntrax universal 75/90

Is this the correct oil for my wrx bugeye gear box? Is it now called Castrol Universal 75w-90 semi-synthetic?

Do I need to also do rear diff and if so is 4 litres enough?

Yes, that's fine for the gearbox and diff and you'll need 5L to do both.

Cheers

Thanks Tim, it was your site I saw the oil on.

The last time I did a gearbox, I paid £3/4 per litre... does the scooby really need this oil?

No, with the DCCD box you want the Motul Gear 300 and in the diff, the Motul 90PA, Fuchs Gear 90LS or Shell TS90.

Hi

To an extent, you get what you pay for with oil. Okay, there are some that are a bit overpriced, but gear oil for £3/4 a litre is going to be basic stuff. This is a bit cheaper than the Castrol (especially in a 4L can) and still decent stuff
