£1500 will find you a decent one, ish.... It will be out there somewhere.

More of a question is, can you be bothered looking through the sh.. To find a good one

The good ones normally stand out from the rest easy to spot an unmolested model

I had a fantastic black wagon, came with 18" alloys, new mot and a months tax. Had 72k genuine, was an auto converted to manual. Small bubble of rust on 1 rear arch, paid £850 for it. Just with that in mind

£1500 will get you a good one.

I paid £875 for one 2 years ago and it was in fair condition, never let me down and done 2 track days in it.

Also used it as a work horse for carrying long ladders on the roof rack and had the back seats down to fully load it with tools and materials. Made 8 hour round trips in it and never missed a beat.

+1 at that price range you could not buy from just looking at a add alone you would have to physically go and view and check condition of the vehicle inside and out fully and all paper work if any Etc....SJ.

if speed not an issue go for a gx wagon..I love mine and its like having an mx5 estate!
older people who were well heeled bought them and most you see are full history and mint. unlike the turbo's that are thrashed to bits by all the 15 previous owners...
best car Ive ever owned..does it all and is a hoot to drive.
my 03 plate cost £1600 and is mint.

£1,500 will get you a nice wagon. There not sort after as the saloons as some people think there not right! pmsl. They are very practical and surprise a lot of non Subaru owners
I should think that one wouldn't be hard to find either

Main thing To look for is the rear arches as well documented on here
Mine is thirteen years old now since new and even mine has started at the arches despite polished and lives in a gargage and 61k miles since new

The old rumour of front wings reversed and using for back doesn't seem to work as a lad on here tried it
I had a mot advisory on brake pipes slight corroding this year as once burst last year when doing the mot

Sigma alarms can be problems as they get older with sticking indicators and can be effected by radio rtransmitters so alarm can be disconnected
As cheaper then replacement bits and pieces
