Wheres the coil

Question

I'm fitting a sequential gear light and don't seem to be able to find the coil, please don't tell me its buryed under the intercooler

whilst we are at it I'm also going to fit an oil pressure guage, anyone know where the sensor thet Subaru uses is placed, thanks!!

mate I got a sequential shift light too.....aint got fitting instructions so I'm waiting for some other mug to fit theirs (and blow it up )and then I'll copy...... so mail me when ur done

Which model have you got? Early ones had 4 coils on top of the plugs , later ones had a block on top of the inlet maifold .

block on top of the manifold has the HT leads coming out of it, but thats not the coil is it? Sorry to sound stupid but all my other work has been on distributor based EFI

Question

OK, found the coil/ignitor unit on the manifold, it has a connector plug attached - anyone know which one correlates with the coil neagtive.
Failing that has anyone used the rpm output from the ECU?
Come on everyone I don't believe I'm the first person to do this!
