Default Its Playing Up Again...

Ok not being having a good year with my Scooby, now stuttering and noise is coming from behind the timing belt cover

I am not a mechanic but realise this is not great so should not move it any further.

My nearest Scooby specialist is approx 15 miles away.

The question is, I have full AA cover - can I get them to take it there ?

I would laugh, but the bloody thing is driving me insane...

No the sound is more like something slipping or lose or something... when i was driving to get home it kept juddering and would not smoothly pull off.

Need to get it to garage but don't want to drive in case I totally destroy it

Sounds like it could possibly be a lose or worn cambelt tensioner which has caused the belt to jump a tooth or two, which would put the timing out.

Smart move not driving it as it could get VERY expensive should the worst happen, I'd pay to get it to the garage or dependant on where you are you could give this guy a call.

Tim Farmer at Subbus, he can come to you. Number is 07880661866.

Highly recommended.

In that area the only place I would take it is Zen Motorsport.

But give Tim a call as that IS his area so your in luck, and he used to work for Zen and set up on his own as a mobile mechanic, he also builds full on motor sport engines and knows his stuff.

Mate **** home start, I won't tell you again, Tim Is your man, it may cost you £100 or more BUT it WILL be money very well spent, especially if some AA muppet ***** your engine because he hasn't got a clue.

But hey what do I care, it's not my car or money.

The AA will want to diagnose the problem before recovering it to a garage. However, if you're lucky you maybe able to explain to the AA recovery guy your problem and slip him a tenner.
