Default WRX Exhaust Mods

Hi all, I have just brought my first Subaru, a 2005 WRX with 49k on the clock, totally standard with full history.
My first thoughts are that it is a little quiet, and so would like to get a little more noise comming out of the back and a better soundtrack
Can you recommend the best way of doing this. Don't really want to de-cat or replace the whole system. Is there a back box that would help to achieve this?
Looking on eBay, there is a Scoobyworld Ninja T304, advertised by the BHP Factory. Would this be a good solution, and has anyone fitted one of these. I presume that it's just a case of swapping the old back box with a new one.
Any help or advise would be much appreciated.

First welcome.
My choice would be an Afterburner Vortex or Raptor rear box, can have this either straight exit or jap style angled exit.
Will give you nice sound and if you want even more burble replace the resonated centre section with straight through.

Afterburner is a good call, I started with a prodrive system and in a week sold that on and went with the afterburner system

+1 for the raptor. Gorgeous sound. If you can afford it, get the centre section too.

How much difference would there be by adding the centre section?
The write up suggests an increase in power as well, by fitting the cat back system of up to 22 BHP. Is this realistic, or marketing hype?
With these changes, as you are only changing items from the cat back, do you need to get any re-mapping carried out?
Thanks again for the info, this is very useful for a non mechanical minded person

No mapping is required as you will still have the cats, some gain but not that much.
Just beware that removing the resonated centre section can increase drone in the cabin on long motorway runs.

This is how your exhaust is at the moment mate:

I bought a prodrive backbox, then the 2nd decat, then the non resonated centre section. Now I'm fully decatted and its a nice balance when driving around town or to work but gets nice and loud when pressing on.

When I said 2nd decat I meant the 1 labelled up as the rear cat on the pic.

I have a ninja back box and an afterburner de res centre section from scoobyworld, this sounds nice but not overly loud but still a lot louder than the standard exhaust

Running a prodrive downpipe/sports cat and second decat pipe/de-resonated centre and afterburner rear box, lovely sound and not bad on the motorway.

May want check with your mapper, 3 inch is the biggest you want to go and will increase flow and reduce back pressure even more.

There is a 12 month old, 3 inch Japspeed Cat back system forsale on here, to fit a newage car.
Anybody had such a system fitted on their car, if so how does the sound compare to the likes of Ninja 2, Vortex, raptor etc.
Am very tempted.

I had a prodrive backbox that was too quiet, I changed it for a a Ninja 1 backbox & hardly any difference.

When I changed the centre for a straight through one & back box I found the right balance, not too loud but a noise level that compliments the car & the Scooby burble
