Scoobie clinic sorted me out with a TD0520g. On the 2.5 it worked very well. Cost new was £875.+ mapping.

I was thinking the same. Why put STi pistons when forged Mahle are about the same price and way better?

If you are going for the TD05 20g, make sure you have one of Harvey's up-pipes, now available from AS Performance.

I have a Harvey Smith modded TD05 20g on my 98 UK 2.5 rebuild. It uses 740cc injectors and makes over 400/400.

Absolutely no lag and spools from a ridiculously low rpm.

So it's dead easy to drive around town or on the open road.

+1 for Harvey modded 20g #
have a Harvey 20g here with Harvey up pipe, however on a 2.0 spool is a little later than a vf series turbo, but the vf wont make over 400bhp

you will need more than 550's to max the turbo out even at 1.5 bar.

Very happy with mine, just dont buy one of the fleabay crappers, keep an eye out for an Andy forest one or one of Harveys modded 20g's

Don't forget the pistons people.

Another way could be the SC36. The clinic rave about their type R 2.5 rebuild and have tried all sorts of turbos on it but they keep going back to the SC36 as they say it is by far the best turbo for road use.

The guide line would be 360 hence SC"36"

However they can and do produce more depending on supporting mods etc..

Give the clinic or AJ a call....

I would point out also... 360 is plenty fast in a classic

you will be wanting 650cc or greater injectors ideally to make 400+ comfortably,

Mine has 740cc injectors. You DID get the Harvey up-pipe? If not, spool will be later.....
Mine has tubular headers and a Harvey up-pipe and spools to 1 bar below 3000rpm..well below.

Bob Rawle advised me NOT to go above 1.5 bar with the standard studs in the head...I can't remember if yours has the uprated ones?

I ran a 20G and 550's. Car made 380bhp at 1.5 bar boost. I used laterals GT spec manifold and up pipe and also achieved a bar of boost well before 3000rpm.
I then went for a 20% meth mix to get over 400 but had to add an adjustable FPR as the 550's couldn't cope on their own.

Give engine tuner a call. He'll recommend and supply the best part for your setup.

Contact Alyn at AS Performance for an up-pipe, it's well worth it.

A S Performance: http://asperformance.com/contact/ (Google is your friend).

Yes, very much so.

Ask Alyn.

Can't say differences between TD05's, mine was modded and rebuilt by the late, great Harvey Smith.

My car spools very early and pulls like a train right through the rev range. Easily driveable round town too.
