Default Injectors 550 2004 wrx

Hi i have just bought some 550 injectors for a bargin and was wondering what do i need to do regarding getting mapped. Do i fit them then take to garage to get a map. Or fit them at the garage? If i fit them before will it cause damage or problems?

Thanks

Fit yourself, and DO NOT GO ON BOOST whilst on the way to get it mapped.

It's in the garage Rob

No TGV's as it's STi and has been ported.

Hi there

Personally I wouldn't fit injectors without the mapping, but that's me

And agree with Shaun about the what other upgrades you are planning put on yours, injectors alone will not give you more power etc

The car is coming into Palmers very soon to sort out the bodywork following on from the clown who reversed into it, I'll stick it in the boot so you can have a look

Long story, but from me accepting 100 quid to sort it (she refused) it's now gone the solicitor and claim route for £1000's of pounds.

The Claim Company / Solicitors / Hire car / personal injury / vehicle engineers / say that you use Thompson's Bodyshop.....

Are they OK?

I wasnt planning to replace the turbo but thinking of it now it might be worth replacing. How much bhp would i be looking at with all this in place?

Hi there

Really injectors you don't need at this level without the putting bigger turbo. With those parts fitted without the injectors you should be looking at 270-280bhp(although 300bhp is too possible)

As I said before putting bigger injectors doesn't mean you will be making more power, yours current 440cc injectors should be OK for 320bhp

Hope this help

TBH adding all that to a TD04 turbo is a bit counter productive IMHO. The TD04's great strength is it's early spool up which makes up for a lack of top end. Personally I'd buy a VF35 or cheap as chips front entry TD05 and get some bang for your buck

Hi there

if you are looking at TD05,I assume you are looking at 16G(which you can find on older STi),if yes you will need convert this turbo to front entry

If you will fit turbo after remap, you will need again remap, due this I would fit eevrything in one go

Speak to Neil@Slowboy racing,he is located just outside of the Brands Hatch,he will able to fit all those bits and can carry remap too

I ran a newage WRX with a TD05 plus a few mods including porting the OEM headers to 330 ish BHP and on reflection what a nice drive it was. Eibach springs and a Godspeed front brake kit.

Mapped by Bob Rawle so it wouldn't break the gearbox I could tool about without fear of anything breaking or thinking that the damn car was trying to kill me The 5 speed box suits the ratio's especially 3rd gear

The VF35 is virtualy the same.

I now run a few more BHP with a few more mods but hark back to my TD05 days
