Default another oil question

just got opies oil service pack with xxs 10w40 semi synth. any one using or been running this and any thoughts on it? i know oil threads can throw up major debate so i just want to hear from anyone who is/has used xxs. my wagon is a daily driver and not driven hard with occasional b road blasts when the urge takes me lol.

my first in the 90s I used some from Costco - about £10 for 5 litres lol chevron I think it was
too much goes into the oil thing
each to their own but a £20 semi synth will do fine for me

that said I am yet to do a change on my current WRX

i agree there is a lot of debate about oil but £10 oil is maybe cutting corners a bit too much! stick with a good brand of oil, millers or fuschs etc.

Use Millers 10/40 in my STi V3 too.

General weekend use and also done a track day last Summer in it, no problems.

Away for winter at minute, but will be serviced when it comes back out again and will use this oil again.

Small point but it's actually XSS (SS=semi-synthetic)

Hope some of the posters are not confusing the semi-synthetic 10/40 XSS with the full-synthetic 10/40 CFS
Both are fine for the job they're intended to do. If you run much above standard power, it's worth considering a full-synthetic oil.
