Question Exhaust advice without spending a fortune

My goal is more grunt & noise as the PPP is too quiet.

1. If I go with a de-resonated centre section & back box will I achieve my goal?

2. Will I get away without a remap if I do this?

3. Will it affect MOT test?

Running WRX Blob PPP. Would appreciate any thoughts/advice

You won't see anymore grunt but extra noise is easy.
Just change your back box for a louder one, no need to worry about re-maps etc.

As above. Best you could do is fit the de-res centre section and back box and get a intrim remap to suit, roughly £350 depending where you go. Will be MOT friendly to.

Are you looking to take the power further in the future?

No I am not looking to up the BHP I am happy with what I have. BTW when I put 'grunt' I did not mean more BHP but burble/noise. Soz.

Why would I need an interim remap? Is it necessary only if I was looking for more power in the future?

Cheers

Well you could map it with the fore-mentioned pipe work which would give you a bit more power with a decent panel filter. It's not nessercery for the map, it's just freeing up the extra horses that the supporting mods would give you. Not really worth doing though if you intend on taking things further ie, bigger turbo, injectors....as you need another map.

If your happy with current performance then just stick a different rear can on. You'll find one in the for sale section for under £100 and will unleash that familiar sound that your searching for.
Nothing else required.

On my old wrx with ppp I just fitted a de resonated centre section and kept the prodrive backbox, sounded very nice. Not to loud but better than with standard centre. If this isn't to your liking just add a louder backbox as well. No need for remap unless you mess with the downpipe cat,

As said. I've got a prodrive backbox on mine but non res centre section and fully decatted. More than bearable on my commute but does roar if you stand on the loud pedal.

If it was a weekend toy then I'd probably replace my backbox with something a little more noisy though.
