Default walbro fuel pump?

reading through car specs and usually something that pops up is a 255lph walbro fuel pump. what exactly does it do?

my car has a full 3" revolution decat, an induction of some sort and a remap --not the most high powered car on these forums running a modest 270bhp/261lb/ft torque.

but in what circumstances would a car need that uprated bit of kit, over the standard kit? also, would it need a remap after fitting?

The mapper usually advices you to change your fuel pump as it gets tired with age

Would have thought your car had the pump changed before the remap ...

I can't put my hrc pump on as been told it will over fuel as its good for 500bhp ,,

Most mappers won't do it unless you have changed it anyway , plus it's piece of mind that you got plenty fuel getting to the engine ,my hrc was part of a group buy and I got it for £35 ,my mate Matty1983 paid £49.99 cheap as chips really and worth doing

It's not too bad really once you get the rear seat out. The fun part is trying to empty the fuel tank a fair bit before starting work

I did it to my old classic STI, same setup as yours i think, took me about an hour all in including making a new electrical connection for the pump as the one it came with didn't fit properly. There is a great guide on JGM's site here, which is the one I used

It's a very simple job mate, 30 mins tops. Just take your time and be careful not to drop anything.
