A classic exhaust won't fit the hawkeye model. As far as im aware the new age models from Subaru Impreza 2001 - 2007 up to hawkeye model have same fitment...

Hi there will fit, just one hanger on backbox will not fit/seat properly and will need re-weld or leave it in place, otherwise straight fit

I've run classic exhaust on my bugeye 2001 without the problem

It should fit with said hangar chopped off but the chances ate it will tap something under your car and annoy the shît out of you so be prepared. My classic has a newage Cobrasport system on it and tapped around the rear diff/props haft mount until I had them adjust it. It's all to do with the bends being slightly different and hdbing seen it on ramps it's just enough to tap - sometimes.

The classic and New Age is a totally different car design. Goes without saying it shouldn't be a straight fit.....
