Default Rev - App on iPhone?

Anybody running this? Wondered how it compares to the Android Torque App that I saw being used last night.

I am running it and it's great. To be honest they are all pretty much the same as I also use Dash Command.

Thing I like about Rev is the data logging feature.

I have it connected via a £25 Wifi adaptor from eBay.

The Torque App allows you to video your driving while displaying the dials, can this be done on the iPhone?

The android app is called torque.
I do like the ability to record video with your choice of dials displayed. Nice touch. Very handy for fault code reading/reseting too.

Have you got an item number for one of the ones you bought or a link?

Cheapest I can find is £45

The OBD2 plug on amazon for £25 should work? This is a Bluetooth device.

Will this work with the ECU in a 98 classic? Alot of the ELM32 Bluetooth adaptors on Ebay say that it works with most petrol cars from 96 onwards but excludes some Subaru's along with other makes!!!!

Cheers.

Cheers, I hadn't actually seen the YouTube video so will have a look. I was looking at the info available with the Bluetooth connectors and trying to find out which protocol the 98 used in the ECU.

Cheers for the reply.

Only cars made for the USA market after 1996 have odb2 ports what is needed to use this app, cars outside of the USA only got odb2 after 2001, so it won't work on classics.

Yeah, I've looked at several other forums including one specifically for the Torque app and it looks like the classics have the same port in terms of config/pins etc but the protocol the ECU uses is SSM rather than ODB2.

People have used the Bluetooth adaptors and managed to connect to them but it provides no info to the app - just says the ECU isn't responding.

Ah, well - looks like we are stuck with using the diagnostics mode and counting the flashes from the engine management light..............unless there are code readers out there that support SSM.

Cheers for the help.

yeah i have tried my elm dongle and torque app on a my99 classic and it couldn't talk to the ecu.
worked on a jdm blob and a uk blob perfectly tho.

I don't think the torque app can use wifi, only bluetooth.

You don't have a link to this product please? I see there are a few on eBay, at least I know yours works so if I buy it from your link I can't go wrong.

Item number is 270848182136

Your iPhone has to be jailbroken with a working Bluetooth app installed.
