oh well looks like postie will be bringing a letter.

quite suprised theres recall, would just have expected any corrosion issues on cars that old just to be highlighted at mot time and left for owner to foot the bill.

A mate has had his letter, mine must be in the post !!

At least it's free of charge and I wonder how many of the 23010 cars are left running or the owners have already sorted this issue out ?

cars from 01/01/02 to 31/13/07. So if your car falls between these dates then you should get a re-call.

Not all cars between these dates are affected though!
The RB320, even though falls between the dates, has alloy lower arms, so not part of the recall

If you check with your local subaru dealer they can check the list to see if your car is on it and get it booked in. I haven't recieved anything from subaru but car is booked in next week.

Really? I must be thinking of a different part then as when i had the car waxoiled there were rust patches on the part i thought this was referring to. Had mine all cleaned underneath and treated

This is the part i thought they were on about

As you can see the rear bolt was loose on both sides.

We are a subau dealer .. It is the front wishbones that are at fault

If you get a letter book your car in with your local dealer ..

Then they will check the arms , treat if required .

If they require replacement then they will be ordered for you car and then replaced .

Models effected

FORESTER 03-08
IMPREZA 02-2007

STEEL ARMS.

wait for a letter , maybe easier

I called my subaru local dealer and gave him my chassi number, it was on the list as outstanding, that was enough and it's booked in for next week, this is an 03 wrx wagon. I don't see the problem if it's on a 'to do' list.

I bet they don't pay for re'alignment after, which you will need unless you want uneven tyre wear

Er, the lower arms are probably the one part that should NOT affect the alignment. Strut to hub carrier and steering arm, yes. Lower arm, unlikely.

Depends what they're doing and how it's done , but personally I think the alignment will need checking as a minimum
