fuel filter question/parts question
how do you relieve the pressure when changing a fuel filter on a classic subaru wagon 97 wrx please. i know its under the bonnet next to washer bottle, but do you remove the fuel pump fuse until car runs out of fuel thats the pressure gone then change the fuel filter? or whats the correct method please, anyone know? same to restart car straight after filter changed?
anyone know of a good subaru spares place to order new/used parts from a little bit cheaper? tried japarts, not bad, any one suggestions appreciated?

When I did my fuel filter, 01 bugeye.
I left the car over night, did not start it before changing filter so no fuel presure from pump,
I clamped off the in and out let pipes (small 'G' clamps. Dont over tighten to split pipes
Undid jubilee clips,
Removed pipes a small amount of fuel came out (tea spoon full)
Released clamp holding filter
Remove filter from location
Remove ruber band from fuel filter
Re fit is the reverse.
Start car.
Be aware the old filter still has fuel in it, i took mine to the local tip to dispose of carefully.

The service manual says the folowing to release the pressure:
1) Disconnect the fuel pump relay. (under the dash on my car)
2) Start the engine, and run it until it stalls.
3) After the engine stalls, crank it for five more seconds.
4) Turn ignition switch OFF
