Default My99 Pulsing/Surging Light Throttle

heya guys....dont some searching about this problem and i havent really had much luck finding the route of the problem. Plenty of other people have had the problem but no real soloution.
Whats i got basiclly is a surge but only on light throttle u can feel the car wanting to pull away then it holds back...like pulsing bk and forth lightly, A

Also when driving and holding light boost 0.3bar if u hold it for more than 10 seconds steady it drops down to 0 and u can hear the change in the engine note. but if u dont lift off and put ur foot down it just builds back up again.

ive plugged it into the diagnostics and ive had nothing...i also used ecu explorer and the maf voltage varies on idle from 1.2v to 1.6v give or take
is this correct?

ive had the car now 3 weeks and its done it since i got it

so far ive tryed
full service (plugs regapped to .65 as it runs 1.2 bar, leads, filter cleaned as its a idn panel filter and of course oil and filter)
also had the boost solinoid cleaned out and check for air leaks on the system even had the front pipe of to check for any cracks in the turbo exhaust housing...alll so far have made no diffrence.

HELP!
thanks guys in advance

Maf is notoriously fragile on MY99 - worth changing every couple of years anyway and that may well fix things

car been remapped if running 1.2bar? the hesitation is an issue with MY99/00 standard ECU's - which i was informed can be mapped out. i found my prodrive ECU doesnt have the hesitation, whereas the std one does.

also, the weak MAF isnt weak, its fine if you run correct airbox & non-oiled filter. the weak MAF was on 1st production runs but in 2003 subaru updated/supercedded it with a stronger MAF - green stripe dictate the later MAF

look at getting it tweaked or at least checked over.

speak with JGM or other mappers on here about getting it mapped out - they'll have more info on it all

well ive spoke to bob rawle as ive heard great things and im thinkin of going to him early next year around the end of jan for a complete new mapping session...along with going for a 3 port boost solenoid. buuuut is this slight pulseing from the map or isit somthing else failing , i love these cars but they really do like spitting there dummy out from time to time

have you got pops and bangs mapped in by any chance, if these are mapped too aggressivley the car will do exactly as you explained as it is overfueling on light revs then correcting itself,. i had one like this we simply adjusted the overfuelling and it was sorted,

there may lie the problem, if the pops and bangs arnt working right when they should theres obviously some timming/fuelling error there imho,. ask bob to plug it in m8 and remove them ,.

well i dont know what the original map was done for tbh last print out was 275bhp do you this think surge/pulse thing could be down to the map? only prob is when a new mapper goes to map they cant see what the privious mapper has done so has to be a fresh start. bigger money but at least its to what i want then...
