Default Hurst Cars - Bedford

Hi guys,

I've noticed Hurst have quite a few subarus for sale and wondered if anyone has had any previous experience with them or knows of their reputation as a dealer?

Any info would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Ross

Guys name is Max, he's sound.

I've had quite a few bits from him and never had a problem. He has got a profile on here somewhere.

I live in Bedford but never heard of them. There is no used car lot last time i was down the road he was advertising from but i'm not saying there is any thing wrong with what he is selling though as the imprezas look in good nick on the website

He doesn't have a premises buddy. Sells from home to keep overheads down I believe.

Yeah there's a couple on there I am quite interested in but would rather get some background info before travelling up there to be disappointed.

Would be good to know if there's anyone on here whose bought a car from there before!?

I did a search and a guy on here called Adam405sti seemed to be the guy running the place?

I got my ra from him, was a really nice guy, put a small deposit on it, then flew down, he met me at the airport with the car, drove it back to bedford, then drove car back up2 scotland.

Yeh he sells from his home address, not a showroom.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I'm going to look at some of the type rs at the weekend hopefully.

Whats the deal with rebuilt engines that haven't covered many miles - are they generally a steer well away or still a potential good buy?

I was about to go look at a car but he beat me to it

A few days later the price went up by about £2k

Still has quite a few nice cars from the looks of it.

Yeah i got my current car from 'Max' (doubt thats his birth name) about 5 months ago, havent had any problems with my 54 plate and just this week past its MOT without a hitch... the only thing i will say is there was a rust spot on the roof that either 'Max' didnt notice or decide not to bring it to my attention....but i guess that was my fault for not seeing it when i viewed the car.

Just be mindful of what service the car has had and what 'Max' said he has done, ask for proper receipts....i was stupid enough to take the car off him without it being service for the past 3 years (it had done very little millage in that time however) and in the end cost me £350 to get the 50k service done (belts) again this was down to my own lack of research. But 'Max' gave me a fair price for my CTR (and then stuck it up for sale a few days later for a grand more than he gave me for it) and i managed to knocking him down a few 100. As always just do ya research on what ever your looking at. Overal a decent gezzer

Cheers guys. I'm going down there at the weekend to check out a couple of the motors so fingers crossed one of them is what I'm looking for.

Hi, not been on a while and only just spotted this thread, found Max (Hurst Cars) to be very honest and upfront when I bought from him, would be happy to do business with him again.

What was the general look of the imprezas he was selling mate when you looked at yours or did you only have the one you bought to view ?

I only saw the one I bought so cant really comment on his other stock, but as others have said he only seems to deal in decent lowish milage cars with good service history.
