As above better gains will be if you get your car mapped and car will be safer too drive.
With WRX you should be looking at 270-280bhp after remap

A standard newage sti is 276 bhp. You can get it to 330-340 bhp on the standard turbo with the following:

turbo back decat exhaust
up rated fuel pump
up rated panel filter
3 port boost solenoid
remap

265ps standard, 305ps with PPP.
Adding an exhaust will do very little, decatting it with that exhaust and not remapping will blow holes in your pistons, otherwise you should be pushing around 290-310bhp(ish)

Mine is a 2003 STI PPP and after a remap I got 340bhp / 328lbs/ft. All I`ve got is a decat downpipe (which I only found out about the other day ) and an uprated panel filter

Im waiting for the first classic owner to come along and say that you need a 400bhp newage to keep up with a 290bhp classic

You wont hear that from me. I've done the "classic vs newage" against someone with a bugeye.

Mine has 300+ bhp and 300 lb/ft, her bugeye has basic mods and a remap but only produces 240ish bhp and 270 lb/ft due to a collapsed cat in the up pipe.

Off the lights, her newage launches way better than my classic and it took me til 80+ to catch and pass her. Only her lack of bhp stops her keeping up once I hit 3rd/4th/5th but off the line her torque is similar so theres nothing in it. On the road its a similar story, but on a 1/4 mile there wouldnt be much in it.

A 400 bhp newage would be a bit of a monster IMO, certainly quicker than my classic.
