I've got a license and map on my MY00 already but it was done by Zen.

After all the arguments etc and poor customer service I got from them (waiting weeks for replies, no reply to answerphone etc), plus a snotty phonecall from them when I posted on here, they have now refused to tweek the map for my current engine and mods.

Problem I now have is that all the mappers i've spoken to want £300 + another £60 in VAT and thats a punch in the pant that I dont need. In theory, the map at Zen has been paid for so therefore it should belong to the customer?

If theres anyone out there willing to take on the job without wanting nearly £400 then pm me please, I have the cash available.

The car is an MY00, FMIC, VF35, Decats, walbro, CAIK and 3 port.

Would love to use Duncan at Racedynamix as I know he's not far off doing Ecutek so might pm him and see what he says but if anyone else can help for the right price then i'm all ears.

Hi Dan, the plan would be to do everything I need, so I can avoid having to do more tweeks.

I only need an sti up pipe, full de-cat down pipe and a 3 port to add to my current set up (305bhp/300lb/ft) and thats as far as I want to go with it on a 5 speed.

Ideally, i'd like to run it on 97 too, as theres no Vpower/momentum round here, its a 25 mile round trip.

With all the mods, i'd be hoping to see 340/340 on 97, but would prefer more torque than bhp.

 

Nice, that would be ideal if you could get it on 97Ron, and will pull well at 340/340.

fingers crossed chap. Work has picked up enough for me to be secure for a bit so she's in for MOT this week then i'll go from there.

I do have other priorities to sort as well, like getting a new work vehicle, but would like an idea of what to budget for on the scoob if I have the funds spare to finish the car to the standard i'm looking for. Wish list is to finish the engine mods/map, sti suspension and new tyres.

Thats Tracktive mate. I use Carnetix a lot and Glenn is a top bloke but i've heard a few things about tracktive that make me want to lean towards using someone else like Dunc, JGM, scoobyworld etc.

Proberbly looking at an Astra or Mondeo estate in the new year, or earlier if funds allow.

Just have to hope things pan out and I can take the Scoob to the Nurburgring next year fully prepped

 

Hamster give bob rawle a bell or check out his website,He mapped my 99 &00 car and is one of the best mappers around imho.He once spent an hour tweaking my map,and after discovering a faulty walbro pump never charged me a cent for his hard work/time.
Make no mistake - you cannot beat this man for customer service & ability.

If I bought an ECU with a license/map from a different mapper and transplant it into my car, would this then be easier/cheaper to tweek?

Would be interested to see what mappers would charge to tweek a different map/ecu if its transplanted into another car.

 

I have a ECUtek map on MT03 STI ppp but don't know what mapper because was done before I got the car at Scoobyworld. Does this mean I am going to have to pay out lots because I am going to need a map tweak in the new year?

 

It should be no problem at all mate ,ecutek ecu's with the licence sell on ebay for £150- £200, then as long as you know who the mapper is and the original car reg you should be sorted. When i had my 99 car mapped it made 316 bhp 317 lb/ft. When i bought my MY00 car i put the ecu and all the parts from my 99 car on it and took the car for a map tweak.Dispite both cars being identical ,my MY00 was running way to rich. After an hour of high speed runs & acceleration runs car was running fine and made 324 bhp 321 lb/ft and cost me £140. sometime after this i added a zerosports intercooler splitter which reduced the intake temps down and car gained 6bhp in the process.

 

Does your car have the ppp ecu which iirc was running 305 bhp ?

 

Try engine mapper, AKA Graham he's one of the most reasonably priced fella's out there.

It has the ppp certificate so I would say yes, and a bill for the ECUtek licence and remap at over £500.

 

if you take it back to scoobyworld they can tweek the map, which will save on a full map from someone else.

Ok, it's a bit of a drive from me but I have been up there before. Do you know the mapper they use, and does that also mean I would have to get them to fit my new bits because I have heard driving without a remap is bad news.

They map it themselves mate, they dont get anyone in. I was there for a dyno day with 20+ other lads about a month ago, great people at SW and gave some great advice.

Best thing to do is to fit the mods the day before then drive OFF BOOST to the mapping session. Saves you paying on labour for fitting plus if you run into any problems you can resolve them beforehand rather than wasting mapping time.

I used to do their mapping.

I am not sure their pricing if you go there for a tweak on a map I did as the do their own now.
