Cool

I've got a Tracker with 24Hour Monitor and Guard and Recover.

You can go for the annual membership and if you want to upgrade to the lifetime membership (which costs about 2.5 times the annual) you can just pay the difference after 1 or 2 years have elapsed.

Tracker asked me where I was and then gave me a list of nearby approved fitters - I chose one and they sorted the rest out for me.

I've got Telematix EGuard (GPS system)with 24 hr monitor/guard, recover. The main reason for choosing EGuard of Trackstar was cost, they are both Gps systems but Eguard was about £100 cheaper at the time. Tracker was not an option as my insurance company required a GPS system and Tracker is not.

Personally I wouldn't go with Tracker it works on radio waves but it is the only one that the Police can track. The other GPS systems are monitored by the relevant companies and if there’s a problem they inform the Police.

Regardless of what anyone says, tracker has the highest retrieval rate of 99%.

Trackstar when I was considering it was 50%. Great!!!!!

Tracker believe in their radio operated system but have introduced tracker horizon which has gps and radio.

Incidentally speak to tracker directly and they will explain why radio is actually better than gps, even though they now offer both.

plus the top of the range tracker works out much cheaper than trackstar when you include lifetime subscription, and tracker will come out and fit it themselves.

Cant comment on the other makes but the police recommend tracker.

Got trackstar fitted with 24hr guardian cost approx 900 quid but no annual payments i went for this system cos its uk wide unlike tracker which aint, as for the radio tracking? it suffers as much as gps, it needs tracking stations throughout the uk which it has but not All of the uk its fitted to police cars and helecopters, yup advantage, police cant be called out cos at accident, disadvantage..
its dependant on what you want, they are all about the same, i think trackstar have only ever had one non-recovery, which aint bad, tracker have had 1000 cars recovered over 10 years but there have been people who aint had there cars recovered....
You want to ring both trackstar up and tracker, compare both, understand both have failings (thus the reason i went for a gps system rather than radio cos i use to work for HMForces and used radio alot so i know how adversly affected both systems are)
both are affected by terrain and weather, but both are good systems.
The one thing i can say though is that my trackstar unit is SMALLER and more easily concealed than the tracker system!!

Thumbs down

I'm glad people have mentioned Telematix here, since apart from the direct debits going out of my account every month,
i wouldn't know they were still in business. Surely an occasional mailshot to tell you what they'd been up to wouldn't be too much to ask?? (Telematix are you listening??).
