Hang in there mate, the right car will be out there somewhere I have been in your situ plenty times and rushed in and bought a car only to regret it a few days later, plus never look at cars for sale after you have just bought one, its sods law you will see one cheaper and better than the one you just bought

I have a 1994 WRX import, 317bhp, immaculate, not a spot of rust anywhere, paintwork is top notch. Only been in the country for 3 years.

i konw the feleling ive bene looking for a uk wagon for a freind for a while now and ive seen a few and they are not good enough he has 2500. to spend on one to but finaily were going to look at one tomorrow with 76000 on it from a chap called bash who is on here i think this could be the one for my mate, i look at one the other day and the first thing i did was to check the oil from stobe cold and low and behold there was no oil on the dip stick at all just makes me laught, the onwer was surprised but thne said he had not serviced it for a year for F88k sake and he want over 2000.00 for it with 108000 miles,

I found a very good type r sti for a friend. 1 owner from new, 30k odd miles, brilliant condition, garages all it's life... Cost a fair bit though

come to think of it, if your wanting completely standard, i dont have the standard exhaust nor do i have the standard suspension (i bought it like this)

I sold what you wanted 14 months ago .... one owner, full history, not molested, average mileage (ie not low), sold in very quick time indeed and then I was swamped with enquiries.

That was over a year ago ... they are getting rarer by the month.

You are right to avoid molested models, add to that the Imports, I'm not sure that you should rule out a certain colour (if all else is right).

Patience is your best asset.

Well here's a little 'Import' i picked up last year, one owner from new in Japan completely standard with 57,000kms (34,000miles) on it:-








You'll need to double your budget to get one like this though

that is clean and yeah my import was a mint five years ago when i got it but its under-sealed came from japan like it
