Mine is a uk sti when I bought it it was advertised as a prodrive it also has a prodrive spoiler. My mate has a 95 wrx jap but like I said mine leaves it all day long!
Suppose the question I should have asked is what's the difference between a wrx and a sti?

There was never a UK sti in the classic shape...

Only UK classic was the Turbo 2000 and the PPP was optional extra which was meant to bring the power up from ~208bhp to 240bhp IIRC
However it is not strange for turbo200's to run more bhp from stock than claimed. I had a turbo 2000 bog standard that ran 240 on a very accurate RR. I also know of someone who had the PPP option fitted who ran over 250bhp which is closer to wrx figures.
Your year of UK model can be remapped so that could be a possibility as to why it may be a bit quicker.

Pretty close muttley
though the 99/00 cars were 215bhp and the PPP was quoted at 237bhp on 95 ron (though 97+ was recommended and the power output increased to 250bhp).
WRX (depending on if its a wagon or saloon) for a 95 model is either 220ps (wagon) or 260ps (saloon), also if they are old n tired that figure can drop.

I know it's got a full stainless with decat it's also got over run so I originally thought it had been re mapped. I was looking at the vf23, vf24 turbos what benefit would I get by having either of these fitted also would I need a fmic?
