Hi, What size of tyres should be my 97 classic? I have the original 15" wheels.
When i do a search online for tyres and enter my reg plate it comes up with 195 as the width but the handbook says 205. Who is correct? does it matter?

Yeah the Catalunya originally came with 15" wheels.

 

It doesn't really matter (unless your insurance company wanted to be ridiculous), but I'd go for what's in the handbook. The extra 1 cm width is only another 5 mm either side which is negligible and you could vary the tyre width by that much by changing the pressures alone anyway.

 

Yea Catalunya came with 15" wheels. Same wheels the sport came with but painted gold.
Stick with what the handbook says chap in my opinion.

 

What size tyres you got on it now?

 

I am pretty sure the catalunya came with 195 /55/15 tyres iirc.

It's got 195's on just now. Thought i'd check the book and the inside of the door and they say 205's but garages seem to say 195's. Needing a couple front tyres so i'll change them for 205's.

 

Doesn't it say the tyre sizes on the drivers door pilar? Or is that how much air in them.

 

I would think they should be 205/55/15.

 

Yeah it says 205/55/15. Think i've always just went with what was already on the car when i bought it.
